Lynn and I, as well as much of the U.S. Antarctic Program were shocked today to find out that we had lost a good friend and co-worker. Nick Johnson took his life a few days ago. Nick was known as the author of the book, "
Big Dead Place" as well as a ambitious
blogger. He was smart, funny and an all around nice person. We will miss him dearly.
