Colorado National Monument
We took a nice little drive today around
Colorado National Monument, which is located
just outside of Grand Junction.

The 23 mile long Rim Rock Drive gives great views
of sheer-walled canyons, towering monoliths and
awesome vistas of the Grand Valley, all the way
from Loma to Palisade. Since only 275,000 people
visit the monument each year, even on busy days,
one can have the place practically to one's self.
Miles and miles of hiking trails will definitely
draw us there over the next few months. Just like
when we lived in Estes Park, it's great to have a
National Park Service unit in our back yard.
