The View From Here

I wouldn't call this the best stitch job of
photography I've ever done, but for those of you
that have never been to McMurdo, this is what it
looks like. Or least this is what it looked
like on the afternoon of November 11th. Kind
of a cloudy day, but overall clear. It looks
like there is a pretty big "footprint" of
humanity here, but it's actually better than
a few years ago when there were many more items
strewn about. Things are much more consolidated
now. Yes, it still looks like a mining town,
but except for Scott Base, two miles away, it's
the closest thing to civilization for many
hundreds of miles.
