Flood

It wasn't of Biblical proportions, but we discovered when we came
home that there had been a flood in our finished basement. It
appears that it happened a couple of weeks ago and our house
sitter didn't do much about it! We called a plumber in and he
told us that there weren't any broken pipes or any obvious reasons
why our bathroom and living room flooded. However, his theory
is that when the city was flushing out the sewer lines this spring,
this caused our toilet to massively overflow. It looks like we have
to replace the carpeting and tiles and some of the drywall as well
as some furnishings. I think the insurance company is going to
come through for us, but we'll have to wait and see.

Just when we thought we were safe at home and ready to relax
a bit, this has to be dealt with...Sigh.
