Cargo

Only part of the department I work in deals with
People Movement. 55 people or 63% of the department
handle or deal with Cargo in some way. The Cargo
Handlers move things around and build "pallets" and
"ramps". These consist of groups of cargo that must
be weighed together and fit into the cargo sections
of LC-130's, C-17's and Baslers. The Load Planners
that work in the office next to my desk have small
floorplans of each plane and need to tell the Cargo
Handlers what goes where. It's all a very intricate
system and is difficult making sure all of the cargo
goes where it belongs and is loaded properly. It's
hard work.
