The Baht

Not often to you find yourself with every
bill of currency available in your pocket at
one time. I mean, when's the last time you had
a US $1,000 bill in your pocket (Grover Cleveland)?
In Thailand though, it's quite easy as it takes
roughly 30 Baht to equal one American dollar.
What's frustrating though is when you go to a
store here and they give you change in coins
(and that change is one Baht coins), you have
all these coins in your pocket that are worth
rougly 3 cents each. Ugh. Too many coins...
especially when you're trying to cut down the
weight of your pack. But I digress. Otherwise
the Baht bills are colorful, have photos of the
King on one side, different historic Thais on the
other and as I found out when having some in my
swim trunk pocket...waterproof!
