Lynn and I slept in a bit today and realized that
there was no way to go to church today. Not that we
would have gone to church anyway, but we didn't even
have the opportunity. That's because there are no
churches. About half of the citizens of this area of
Thailand are Buddhist and the other half are Muslim.
As a matter of fact I don't think there are any temples
or mosques here either. Even a remote place like McMurdo
had a church, even if there wasn't a minister or priest
there for services. I'm sure the local people go somewhere
but I get the feeling that most just quietly worship at
home.
