Round and Round We Go

After seeing Traffic Circles/Roundabouts in almost
every country we recently visited, I asked my Dad
to take us through the newly added Roundabout in
Valparaiso Indiana on a trip there today to run some
errands. He told us that supposedly people hate it.
(How is that not surprising) It's still not completed,
but when it is, it should help a bad traffic area that
has been bad for as long as I can remember. But...how
do you keep people from unnecessarily stopping before
entering the roundabout? I noticed this at Grand
Junction's versions of roundabouts last year. They've
since added a few more since we've been gone and I
wonder if the problem has been solved. People just
don't get it, and roundabouts are much more efficient
and safe than stop lights. It's change people...it
happens.

I'm all for change, but I still hate roundabouts. Maybe I should write the Daily Senial to complain about them.

LOL

Tom, I remember when the 1st round a bout went in on Horizon Drive. What a blast that was! I worked for KEKB at the time and we did a on location broadcast from it.

I also had a friend who lived in Horizon Towers and we would sit on the patio and watch the idiots try to drive around it.
The funniest thing we ever saw was someone who missed the turn, so instead of going around again, they stopped, backup up and then took the turn!!!

I love round abouts, they are great.
