In May, a group got together for the 50th Anniversary of Operation Deep Freeze. This winter is the 50th Anniversary of the first winter team at McMurdo as well. A number of events will take place this summer, when the summer crew experiences their 50th Anniversary, including a few of the pictured folks re-visiting Antarctica. Things definitely have changed a bit here since the first winter of 1956.

I can't wait to summer so we can celebrate! I'm excitied to meet the crew. I think I'll hang out with all the other fellow women....
