A Nice Visit

My Aunt Sharon and Uncle Ray and their daughter,
my cousin Deb, came to Hebron today. It's always
nice to see them and since I won't see them
for another year or so, it was an especially
good visit. They're my godparents
and our families have always been pretty
close. Sharon is my Dad's sister. He
has no other sisters and no brothers. Ray
is my Mom's brother. She has no other brothers
and no sisters. So as it turns out, they
married each other. That ruled out several
aunts and uncles and many cousins. As a result,
we were always pretty close to the Smith family.
I hadn't seen Deb in many years. She and her
husband have a daughter that is going to Purdue
on a Pharmacy scholarship. She keeps a blog
at http://www.myspace.com/63595128 and is a really
good story teller. Deb and her husband went to
Purdue like I did and all four of her sisters as
well as my Uncle Ray went to Purdue. So Old Gold
and Black run through their veins. Again, it was
great to see all three of them, and I hope to
stay close to them while I'm on the Ice.

It was great to see you, Tom. It really had been a long time, definitely before you got married. When I explain our family situation to people, they kind of look at me like I'm my own grandma! Take care on the ice, hope you get to enjoy New Zealand for awhile.
