Green
Green. (grēn) n.
The property of being green; resembling the color of growing grass.
Green is a color that we don't see much down here. One
needs to wear it or paint something green since it doesn't
exist here naturally. Just about this time of year, most
people have had enough of brown, black and white and
get this whistful look in their eyes of the "good old days"
(6 months ago) when they last saw green grass, flowing
streams and trees and heard the songs of singing birds.
Several weeks ago one of the folks that works across the
hall from me made a major hit with the community when
he found a website of singing birds and made it public to
almost everyone.

Just the sound of singing birds brought smiles to people's
faces and generally made their day. So, as we head into
the "longest" month of the year, we try to stay focused
without thinking too hard about what it feels like to be
surrounded by green. Those "good old days" will be
back in just a few short months.
