A major landmark in the Grand Junction area is
Mount Garfield. Although it's more of a mesa
than a mountain, it's one of the first things
you see when arriving into the Grand Valley
from the east on I-70. At 6765 feet elevation,
it's part of the Book Cliffs that run from
just east of Grand Junction into eastern Utah.
