Pinsetters in Action
As many people know, McMurdo has one of the last manually
pinset alleys around. Most photos of the pinsetters
themselves show them sitting happily on their perch,
waiting for the next ball to come crashing their way.
However, Ken from IT caught them at work. Pinsetters
here are all volunteers and since the Recreation Dept.
has their budget removed from the Winter Season, they
work for tips alone. Without them the bowling league
of 9 Kiwis and 71 Americans wouldn't be able to work
their frustrations out on 10 defenseless pins week
after week.

I've never seen a manual pinsetter at work until now. Thanks
